Senior Materials Supervisor

Your Role with The Company:
– Lead, mentor, and develop the materials management team (3 supervisors and approximately 30 indirect reports).
– Planning, controlling, and coordinating all related warehouse activities.
– Developing and executing strategic plans for materials management, aligning with production schedules and company goals.
– Managing inventory levels, ensuring optimal stock while minimizing waste and obsolescence.
– Implementing and maintaining efficient warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, and distribution of materials.
– Developing processes and procedures to eliminate line shortages and ensure materials are delivered timely manner to internal customers.
– Collaborating daily with manufacturing, engineering, and sales personnel and establishing a collaborative work environment with all areas of the organization.
– Interface with Customers and Customer Service personnel relative to the quality, features, and functionality of the product when necessary to maintain the highest customer satisfaction.
– Establish management practices that foster a positive, safe work environment.
– Ensure on-time shipments, receiving and inventorying parts in 24 hours, managing lost parts report/scrap write-off, and ensuring on-time loads to the floor.
– Manage materials management goals and monitor the team’s attainment of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
– This position reports to the Director of Operations and will interact with many functions of the company, so your success will be recognized!

Background Profile:
– Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in materials management within a manufacturing environment, preferably in a high mix, low volume process.
– Proven experience leading and developing a team (direct and indirect reports).
– Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
– Proficiency in ERP systems; SAP experience is highly preferred.
– Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a track record of improving material management processes.
– Demonstrated experience in strong total cost improvements.
– Familiarity with ISO 9001 and ISO/TS 16949 is an additional value.
– Must have proficient ability in Microsoft Office products.
– Preferred an APICS (CPIM) or Purchasing (CPM) (CPSM) certification.
