Your Role with The Company:
– Executing the daily schedule and manpower moves to ensure products are made per the customer specifications and the shipping schedule is met
– Developing goals and objectives, communicating with the team and engaging the team in continually improving every aspect of the business
– Managing the budget to ensure plant performance is on target – making adjustments as necessary
– Developing a quality system to assure continuous improvement of quality levels internally and after delivery
– Helping to develop the long-range strategy and budget to keep up with growth including capital equipment, headcount, safety, shop layout and expansion opportunities
– Ensuring the scheduled and unscheduled maintenance is being performed and there is a high sense of urgency to keep capital equipment in an optimal working condition
– Ensuring compliance with government regulations including OSHA and EPA standards, and all company policies
– Implementing changes to increase efficiency and streamline business processes – get the waste out and cut costs
– Working across multiple functions and doing whatever it takes to complete the job
– Communicating with sales, engineering, and customers when issues arise and taking charge of correcting issues
– Staying current with new technology and methods and ensuring the operation is on the leading edge
– This position reports to the President and will interact with many functions of the company so your success will be recognized!
Background Profile:
– 5+ years of manufacturing and plant management experience
– Experience in custom, engineered-to-order (low vol/high mix) environments
– Experience in a union environment is highly desirable
– Passion for continuous improvement
– A “hands-on” leadership approach
– Demonstrated ability to motivate people, assess and develop employee skills, and provide strong leadership in a production environment
– Experience with employee and supervisor training desired
